For The Best In Jazz and Contemporary Music Instruction
Immediate openings for a few MOTIVATED music
students are now available in the South Bay area of Los Angeles for
professional individual instruction in COMPOSITION, IMPROVISATION,
ORCHESTRATION, and ARRANGEMENT in all contemporary
styles, in all settings from solo guitar or piano up through
symphony orchestra. Players of any instrument(s) are welcome.
Rick Barda has been a music teacher, player,
producer and arranger/composer in Los Angeles for more than 15 years and
currently has a few available openings for dedicated students.
His educational background includes The Grove School of
Music, The Berklee College of Music, and The Musician's Institute; so
his course of study is a refined compilation of all of these approaches, as
well as a more developed yet simplified understanding of George Russell's "Lydian
Chromatic Concept". Rick has also been a member of The
International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) for over 15 years.
His course is thorough, practical, and extremely efficient. After completing
his course of study, you will have an unparalleled grasp of harmony and melody
and will be able to compose, arrange and improvise in virtually ALL popular
styles of music since 1915. Most importantly, he teaches you HOW TO LISTEN (as
a composer/arranger/improvisor) and WHAT YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO.
So, if you love this music and you feel like you already know a lot (or maybe
not!), but can't seem to "put it all together"; if you are at least
at an intermediate level of proficiency on your instrument (or maybe a very
motivated newer player), have a genuine desire to learn your craft with
confidence, and would like to experience meaningful, rapid progress, contact
Rick at Rick@DrBop.com and he'll set up
a schedule for you.
