This is an application designed to be used with MS Excel. It was created to help musicians practice reading rhythms. One can see that any piece of music used for reading practice becomes useless once it becomes memorized, so this application was created to solve that problem – the user can endlessly generate random rhythms that are properly notated and then print them if so desired.
This application is based on the premise that (in 4/4 music) there are only 4 possible places of attack in:
ONE BAR of quarter notes
ONE HALF BAR of eighth notes
ONE BEAT of sixteenth notes
Simply select which combinations (any or all) that you want to work with and then select which subdivision (meter) of the beat (quarter, eighth, or sixteenth notes) you want to work with. Create a new page at any time by clicking on the "Re-Generate Rhythms" button.
